Pidchenko S. The place of Russian Orthodox Church in cultural an economic life of Donbass region in 1920th.

On the basis of analyses of documents, factual material in dissertation the various aspects of vital functions of the Russian Orthodox Church, it's place, role and participating in population's life of Donbass region during the 1920th are examined. The religiousness degrees of social layers of population and percent correlation of age-old, sexual, cultural indexes are determined, so the author analyzed the number of religious communities. Signs which characterize a religiousness and reasons of rising down the number of religiousness at the end of 1920th are determined. On the basis of a widely spring base in dissertation, bringing in of the economic potential of church by the state for the decision of questions, connected with cultural and educational, housing and everyday life, material and technical necessities of region, not paying attention to own position is investigated. A clergy executed economic claims of power, paid different taxes, payments, thus took part in economic life of region. Prayer houses, church property, grave monuments, metallic hedgehogs, bells, were used for the acceleration the industrialization of the country. Bringing in of potential for the maintenance of cult things, which had a historical and cultural value, belonged to the state and passed for the use to religious communities, which were kept by the believers under the direction of priests. Icons, frescos, church mosaic, which have been withdrawn from churches were lost, not paying attention to their meaningfulness for a culture.
