Kuzina K. Social problems of coal-miners' towns of Donbass (the 1950-ies - the 1980-ies).

In the thesis for a Candidate of Science Degree the complex analysis of the process of formation and widening of the network of Donbass coal-miners' towns is accomplished, and the integral account of changes of the towns' social infrastructure, life, culture and everyday existence of townsfolk in the 1950-ies - the 1980-ies is rendered. On the basis of the analysis of native and foreign literature, of the broad resource base the peculiarities of social development of this category of towns were revealed. They consisted in specific conditions of occurring of urban processes, production mono-functionality, existence of sufficient female labor resources, departmental belonging of social infrastructure objects, and deficient level of development of municipal services. In coal-miners' towns the special environment has been formed, which can be qualified as the 'semi-town's' one. Intensification of social problems in coal-miners' towns in the second half of the 1980-ies caused strikes of coal-miners.
