The doctrine of a civil society and a middle class has been researched, in the dissertation. The genesis of philosophic opinions about a civil society has been researched, in this work. The role of a middle class was researched in the context of development of a civil society. The structure of fundamental doctrine about a civil society and a middle class has been classified and its main elements identified. It is executed the comparative analysis of class formation processes in the industrial and postindustrial societies; it is revealed both the similar features and the fundamential distinctions in class formation processes in these two types of societies.
