Essay

In dissertation age features of contractility recovery in isolated rat heart (IH) after prolonged ischemia during reperfusion under ischemic preconditioning (IP), possible role of Na+,К+-ATPase and nitric oxide system enzymes in preconditioning mechanism, and effect of aurintricarboxylic acid (ATA) in various concentrations on postischemic heart functioning recovery are investigated. The experiments were carried out on isolated heart in adult (6-8 months old) and old (24-28 months old) Wistar rats. It was demonstrated that one IP cycle doesn't affect heart rate and coronary blood flow recovery, but in 40% of cases contributes to increase of power and speed indices in adult IH during reperfusion after prolonged ischemia. In old IH, one IP cycle induces increase of postischemic heart rate and contractile power in one third of experiments and doesn't effect recovery of speed indices and coronary blood flow.
