Essay

This thesis deals with administrative and legal status, and sociotopography of suburbs of Lviv of the second half of the 17th and 18th centuries. Several jurisdictions in the suburbs of Lviv have been separated as a result of analysis of archives records, published sources and literature. A complex administrative apparatus existing under each of them has been depicted. Influence of gentry and clergy by way of establishment of their jurisdictions in the suburbs in the second half of the 17th and 18th centuries changed social structure of their residents. Sociotopographyc description of the suburbs in this period displayed their professional topography and the topography of "prosperity" of the streets.
