The integral analysis of pedagogical ideas and public-educational activity of O. Popovych is carried out in dissertation. The basic landmarks of life and factors of becoming of him are reflected as an educational figure. Contribution of teacher to development of Ukrainian national community is analyzed, the leading ideas of alteration of the Ukrainian national system of education in the pedagogical inheritance of enlightener are described. Certainly basic directions of pedagogical (educational, methodical, scientifically activity) and administrative activity. Separate attention is spared an educate potential of literary inheritance of teacher.
