The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of the processes of restoration and functioning of orphanages system in Donbass region during the years 1943 to 1965. During the researching the condition of scientific development of the subject was defined. A lot of archival primary sources were used. The dissertation suggests a periodization of Donbass orphanages development (1943 - 1965) and identifies four periods of orphanages activity.
