Essay

The dissertation is a complex research of military and political, administrative and economic, spiritual and cultural activity of princes, boyars and representatives of higher clergy of Pereyaslavl’ Rus’ from the position of their influence on the social and political life of Rus’ of the second half of the XI-th – the middle of the XIII-th century. The analysis of vital activity of all elite of Pereyaslavl’ Rus’ is carried out firstly and its role is highlighted in the history of Rus’. All known publications and literary sources on this theme are generalized and also new materials of archaeological and toponymy researches are entered to the scientific appeal. On the basis of the analysis of considerable roll of chronicle, аhіоgraphical, archaeological, sfragistic and toponymy sources the place of Pereyaslavl’ elite is found out in social and political life of Rus’, and also the influence of Pereyaslavl’ Rus’ on the formation and becoming of the representatives of this elite, on their subsequent fate.
