Object: the process of forming the students’ professional competence in the higher educational establishments; objective: to ground scientifically and check up experimentally imitative-role modeling as the mean of formation the professional competence of specialists in the field of economics; methods: literature analysis, questioning, expert estimation,modtlig, pedagogical experiment; novelty: imitative-role modeling as the mean of forming the students’ professional competence was theoretically based; results: a letter of imitating role games in the field of economic subjects, electronic data base of virtual enterprise, the system of diagnostic of forming the students’ professional competence in the process of studying at higher educational establishments were developed, method recommendations concerning the using the imitative-role modeling for teachers of higher educational establishments and the after graduation institutes were prepared; field – theory and methodology of professional education.
