Essay

The object of the thesis is the cultural identity of Modern. The subject of thesis is Christian grounds and social dimensions of the cultural identity of Modern. The goal of the research is the explication of the religious grounds of the present cultural identity. The methodological grounds of the thesis include the following methods: historical, comparative, hermeneutic, phenomenological, formal logical methods and elements of dialectics. The thesis states that for Modern the cultural ontology represents the triune: historical sense, scientific paradigm and existentialistic dimensions of the rationality of Modern. The research justifies the idea which deals with the Christian antecedents of these grounds of the cultural identity of the man of Modern. Thus, the cultural identity of the man of Modern is founded by social pragmatics which are legitimated by the ontology of Modern itself. The cultural identity is always the practice of the ontology of the culture. And ontological grounds of secular Modern come out to have derived from the Christian doctrine. Therefore, the cultural identity of the present individual is religiously engaged.
