Ilyn L. Ukrainian Representation in the Galician Kraiovyi Seim in 1870-1876.

On the basis of a wide range of unpublished and published sources, analysis of research by national and foreign historians, the thesis reveals the practical activities of the Ukrainian representatives in the Galician Kraiovyi Seim (provincial parliament) of the third convocation term. It is a complex analysis of the organizational and legal bases of the functioning of the krai's (province) supreme representative body. The thesis reveals the mechanism of formation of the krai's representation by characterizing the constitutional regulations establishing the procedure of organizing and holding elections, points out drawbacks in the legislation, namely neglect of the national factor which was decisive for Galicia inhabited by Ukrainians and the Polish. It retraces the formation of the "Ruskyi Klub" - the Ukrainian faction in the Seim - after the election of 1870.
