Essay

An attempt of objective analysis of tsar government policy concerning volost bodies of management based on the complex analysis of sources and literature is first done in this dissertation. The process of volosts formation of Chernihiv province and their reformation in the first half of XIX cent. is covered in this research. Activity of volost administrations concerning implementation by peasants of natural duties, such as: for carts and roads, recruiting, guardining of the convicted people, post duty, is stydied in this dissertation.
