Verbitskij V. Physical education and sport in the secondary education institutions of the South of Ukraine in 1864-1917 (materials of the Kherson province)

The social and public-political conditions of introduction of the lessons of physical culture into the system of secondary education are determined; the official policy of the government in the field of the school physical education is analysed; the quality and the dynamics of the development of physical culture and sport are defined and traced in gymnasia and real schools; the peculiarities of the organization forms and the essence of physical education in the secondary education institutions of the South of Ukraine are investigated; forming of the teaching staff, the system of their education, the social structure and the financial status of teachers of physical education are displayed; the program-methodical, financial and material and technical support issues of the process of physical education are studied.
