STRІAPKO I. Association «Prosvita» and its role in social-political and cultural life of Transcarpathia during 1920 – 1939

The dissertation analised association «Prosvita» and its role in social-political and cultural life of Transcarpathia during 1920 – 1939. Author enlightens the activity of association «Prosvita» in Transcarpathia directed on preservation of historical heritage, museum collections, from exporting then abroad. Special attention is paid to attempts of the association to create National museum in Transcarpathia for preservation of cultural and spiritual heritage. Creation of professional Ukrainian theatre in region becomes the main direction in its activity. Association «Prosvita» has played a prominent role in the newest history. It influenced the consciousness of the local inhabitants, so they realized themselves as a part of the great Ukrainian nation. This Thesis is also dedicated to the deep analysis of the correlation between activity of the association «Prosvita» and forming of party system on the territory of Transcarpathia during 1920 – 1939. The author shows processes of appearance of Ukraine – oriented parties and new generation of political actors which were full of national idea.
