Kindrachuk N. The Struggle of Narodnyi Rukh Ukrainy for the Independence of Ukraine: 1989-1999.

The object is social and political organization of Narodnyi Rukh Ukrainy. The aim is to conduct a complex research of the NRU's struggle for the independence of Ukraine. The methods are: problem-chronological, typological, comparative-historical, method of structural-functional analysis. The scientific novelty of the acquired results: display of the NRU's significance in organization and conduction of political events, analysis of the cooperation between NRU and the Ukrainian Diaspora on the revival of the national statehood, determination of the NRU's role in accepting the Declaration of the State Sovereignty of Ukraine and the Act of the Independence of Ukraine and a successful conduction of prereferendum campaign on December 1, 1991. It is determined that NRU influenced the politization of society, played a great role in involving wide circles of society into the state building activity, ideological unity of Western and Eastern Ukraine, establishing democratic and independent Ukraine. The main points of the dissertation are reflected in nine professional scientific articles and materials of three scientific conferences.
