Matviyenko S. Musical education and upbringing of children and youth in Chernigiv region (XVIII - XIX centures)

Object -development of musical education in Chernigiv region; aim - to carry out an integral analysis of the development of musical education and upbringing of children and youth in Chernigiv region during XVIII-XIX centuries, to find out the specific features of their organization and practical implementation with the aim of incorporating positive pedagogical ideas in the modern day education; methods - theoretical, chronological, system, historical-retrospective and comparative, phenomenological; novelty - the first integral analysis of the development of musical education and upbringing of children and youth in Chernigiv region during XVIII-XIX centuries is carried out , the sources that gave rise to this process are singled out; educational statistics is specified and enlarged with the data concerning the number of public school pupils engaged in singing and chorus activities; the scientific interpretation of the main tendencies in the development of musical education in Chernigiv region is made; results - 75 archival sources and manuscripts devoted to the activities of institutions of primary education in the aspect of teaching pupils singing and music are introduced for scientific study, the teaching course "Musical education and upbringing of children and youth in Chernigiv region (XVIII-XIX centuries)" has been worked out; field - pedagogy
