Topolenko O. Formation of psychological readiness for decision making in heads of secondary educational institutions.

The thesis is dedicated to analysis of distinctive features of development of secondary educational institution heads' decision making readiness. The work contains a theoretical substantiation, methodological foundation and findings of the empirical investigation of the problem in question. The author investigates distinctive psychological features of managerial decision making in the system of secondary education. The contents and structure of secondary educational institution heads' decision making readiness are viewed as a system of managers' motives, knowledge, skills and attributes. The author suggests a model of development of managers' decision making readiness. Heads of secondary educational institutions are found to have low levels of development of basic components of decision making readiness. Levels of development of the respondents' decision making psychological readiness correlate with their organizational-professional and social-demographic characteristics. The author developed and successfully tested a training course "Formation of psychological readiness for decision making in heads of secondary educational institutions".
