Serebrova S. Precedent phenomena in discourse of modern mass media: an issue of functioning and realization.

The objects are modern Russian language mass media of the Donbass region. The aim is to expose the specific of influencing of the precedent phenomena on perception of the mass-media texts recipients, facilities of the precedent phenomena realization (in a canonical and modified kind) in Russian-language discourse of mass media of the Donbass region. The methods are linguistic supervision and description; generalizations and comparisons; interpretation analysis; continuous selection; statistical analysis; functional analysis. Thesis deals with the study of precedent phenomena functioning and realization in discourse of modern Russian language mass media of the Donbass region. There have been studied the notions of precedence, levels of precedence: specification system of PF levels has been specified and completed; composition of precedent phenomena has been defined. The study results testify to the fact that the use of precedent phenomena is a key functional element in journalese structure, occupies certain place in this discourse, possesses specific characteristics to be revealed when certain functions are realized, has a set of invariant means and ways of expression.
