Sytuk T. Immunocorrection in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

The object of research was a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The aim of the research was to improve the treatment results of patients with exacerbation of I-II stage of COPD by use of immunomodulatory drug (Arbidol) based on comprehensive evaluation of the patients immune and cytokine status. The methods of research - clinical, functional, clinicolaboratory, biochemical, immunological, radiological, statistical. Results - іt is shown that the majority of patients who have more than 3 exacerbation of COPD in a year, develop the secondary immunodeficiency II and higher grade which require to use immunocorrection. The use of аrbidol in complex treatment of the patients with I-II stage of COPD in exacerbation is effective and safe method for the correction of secondary immunodeficiency in 96% patients with I stage and 76,3% patients with II stage of COPD. It is demonstrated that complex treatment of COPD exacerbation with use of Arbidol results in significant and fast decrease of the COPD's exacerbation total mark (difference with the control group is significant, p<0,05); significant improvement in patient's quality of life (demonstrated by all assessing scales), improvement in patients functional activity.
