The object of this research is the Ukrainian periodical journalism of 80s XX century - the first decade XXI century. The author makes analysis of theoretical interpretation of post-modernism phenomena by ukrainian and foreign scientists, recollects interconnections of post-modernist paradigm establishment and the evolution of mass-media system, defines the adaptation preconditions of post-modernism concepts to ukrainian post-soviet reality.
