Kobryn N. Musical cultural in the national movement of Galician Ukrainians (1891 – 1939)

Object: Western-Ukrainian musical culture as component part of national revival of end of XIX – the first half of ХХ century (to 1939). Purpose: to describe collaboration of musical culture with a national revival and public-political life of end of XIX – the first half of ХХ century (to 1939); to expose historical and mental reasons and find out potential possibilities of spiritual-forming influence of music on national consciousness of society, and consequently, to analyze, as Galician Ukrainians used a musical art for achievement of elucidative, public-educator, political and other aims. Methods: historiography, source studies and comparative, system-structural, functional, problem-chronologic, statistical, methods of typological studies, classifications, retrospective views. Results: ideas and directions of collaboration of musical practice with national motion of Galician Ukrainians, influencing on its development, are first formulated, development of conception of musical-historical process is found out, a complex book-bibliographic and source research of publishing activity of the Galician musicologists is carried out. Sphere of the use: for creation of monographic researches of creation of separate figures of Ukrainian music, in lecture courses from history of Ukraine, Ukrainian culture and history of Ukrainian music.
