Essay

Object – morphofunctional changes of the retina and optic nerve of rats under modeling of hyperhomocysteinemia and its correction; purpose – to examine changes in the morphofunctional state of the retina and optic nerve under condition of hyperhomocysteinemia of different etiology, severity and duration to determine the elements of consistent patternes in their injuries and pathogenetic approach to its correction; methods – experimental, histological, electron microscopic, lectin-histochemical, morphometrical, biochemical, statistical; the results – morphofunctional state of the retina and optic nerve under condition of hyperhomocysteinemia of different etiology, severity and duration are estimated in experiment, regularities of their injuries are determined and necessity to pathogenetic side of hyperhomocysteinemia and its aftermathes correction is proved; branch – medicine.
