The objects are Russian folk and literary fairy-tales of the ХIХ-ХХ centuries. The aims are the complex description of character's name in a genre of Russian fairy-tale and research of their evolutionary development (from the folk to the literary one). The methods are descriptive, comparative, contextual, semantic, etymological and quantitative analysis. The fairy-tale antroponymies was defined on the basis of specific features in the system of naming characters as a separate branch of onomastics, which combines folk and literary traditions of naming heroes. The complex research of the names of characters in Russian fairy-tales, including the analysis of semantic, structures, forms and variants of the names as well as the functions and means of introduction them into the fairy-tale context was ascertained. The antroponymycon of the Russian literary fairy-tale of the XIX-XX cc. from the point of view of folk and literary traditions was analyzed. Besides, the author techniques of the creating and using characters' names was outlined. The peculiarities of precedent names usage in fairy-tales according to other precedent phenomena were defined. The evolution specificity of the proper name development in the Russian fairy-tale genre from the folk to the literary one, as well as within the literary fairy-tale itself was revealed. Application spheres are the training courses and compiling of the dictionaries.
