Essay

Genetic and demographic processes were characterized among Chernivetska Oblast population including population of different nationalities. Structure, frequency and origin risk of congenital anomalies were estimated among live-birth infants in Chernivetska Oblast. These were such watch congenital anomalies as Down syndrome, spinal hernia, lip and/or palatine cleft, reducing extremity anomalies, polydactylism, synydactylism, multiple congenital anomalies during 1999-2008. Phenylketonuria and congenital hypothyroidism frequency was calculated. Priority risk factors of birth children with congenital anomalies were discovered.
