Essay

The dissertation reveals theoretical fundamentals and practice of usage of national traditions in upbringing of healthy way of life of junior pupils in Western Ukraine of inter-war period of the 20-th century; analyses the level of investigation of the problem in historical and pedagogical literature; defines more precisely the essence of the categories "healthy way of life", "upbringing of healthy way of life", discloses the content of the category "national traditions of healthy way of life"; determines the pre-conditions of usage of national conditions in upbringing of healthy way of life of junior pupils on West Ukrainian lands in 1919-1939, the contribution of teachers, public workers to solving the problem of care of children's health; shows traditional and customary component in the content of West Ukrainian primary school subjects of the definite period connected with upbringing of healthy way of life of pupils; analyses ethnic and valeological content of educational and belles-lettres for children, shows the role of public, children and youth institutions of Western Ukraine of 1919-1939 ("Prosvita", Ukrainian Pedagogical Society "Ridna Shkola", "Vidrodzennia", Division of Czechoslovak Red Cross, anti-tuberculosis League named after T. Masaryk, "Plast" and others) in formation of unofficial system of national education of healthy way of life of junior pupils on the basis of national traditions; defines the possibilities of creative usage of the results of the scientific research in valeological upbringing of pupils at modern primary schools.
