Pylyp G. Development of the Higher Medical Education in the western Ukrainian Regions in 1940s-1990s.

The dissertations is dedicated to the topics of historical, socio-economical and pedagogical aspects of formation and development of higher medical education in the western Ukraine in the (1940s-1990s) of 20th century.In the process of research the socio-economic and political reasons and peculiarities of the development of higher medical education in the western region of Ukraine have been revealed, viewed in the Soviet period and in the times of the formation of Ukraine as an independent state.The leading role in the paper belongs to the analysis of methods and forms of teaching the future doctors of different specializations. The great attention is attributed to medical education of subordinators and interns at the medical-prophylactic institutions. The paper dwells upon the assistance of the teaching staff of the medical institutes to the practicing doctors of the medical institutions of the region. The significant place in the work belongs to the analysis of the reformation of the learning process in the higher medical institutions in the 1990-2000.
