Prylutska O. Ivan Kuras: course of life, socio-political and scientific activity.

The personality of Ivan Kuras, a popular scientist-explorer, an organizer of science, a famous politician, and individuality, which due to his own services has earned an authority and esteem among contemporaries is investigated in the dissertation. His activity promoted the increasing of general prestige and authority of the science of our country not only in Ukraine but outside. The scientist combined hard work and scientific-organizational work with statesman's duties having established himself as a consistent organizer and state-politician. The dissertation investigation gives an opportunity to assert that I.F. Kuras' multiform activity consist the great layer in the intellectual, scientific, national-cultural and state Ukraine's development.
