Antoshak M. Social and educational-scientific activity of Mykola Oleksandrovych Korph

The object of research: M. Korph's personality, a well-known public benefactor, representative of scientific and pedagogic idea and educational process of the second half of the XIX (nineteenth) century in the context of social processes which took place in the country. The aim of research: investigate in complex M. Korph's main lines of public, educational, pegagogic, scientific and systematic activity. The subject of research: M. Korph's course of life, world outlook, public, educational, scientific activity and his role in the formation of organs of zemsky local authorities and system of elementary education. The methods of research: problem-chronological, historical-genetic, biographic, historical. The results of research and novelty: peculiar attention is paid to M. O. Korph's public-educational activity in the South of Ukraine and to his contribution to the development of education in Ekaterynoslavska and Tavriiska guberniias. M. O. Korph's main works, devoted to actual problems of that time: solving the problem of zemski organs' activity and the problem of public education development have been analysed. Context and trends of his scientific heritage have been reported. The sphere of usage: the further research of the current subject, writing of the synthesis works, manuals, reading of the high school courses on the history of Ukraine.
