Mishalova O. Problem of a historical narrative in the modern philosophy of history.

The object is the problem of a historical narrative in the modern philosophy of history. The aim is to define the boundaries of the concept of a historical narrative (a story) in the modern philosophy of history by constructing its theoretical model. The methods are an interdisciplinary approach, the general scientific principles of objectivity, historicism. The theses presents an inquiry into the problem of a historical narrative in the modern philosophy of history. We formulate a generalized conception of a historical narrative as an organizational and representational form of historical knowledge by constructing a theoretical model of a historical exposition. On the basis of analysis and comparison of the conceptions of a historical narrative in the analytical and continental traditions in the modern philosophy of history we establish an essential poli-semantic character of the notion "historical narrative". To make it precise, we propose a theoretical model of a historical narrative as a "narrative triangle" which conforms with its understanding as an organizational and representational form of a historical knowledge analogous to a theory in a natural and exact science.
