Essay

The thesis is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of social utopias in axiological dimension. This analysis includes the definition of the role of the category "good" in the utopian consciousness and examines the nature of its interpretation in classical, nonclassical and postnonclassical stages of the evolution of social utopias. Social utopia is seen as "the conception of good", which combines both a comprehensive doctrine, whose main task is to find and to create the own utopian theory of the good, covering all the known values and virtues within a clearly articulated system, and political conception, which aims to build a certain sound system of power relations in society, to combine a different ideas about good and to allocate a material and spiritual values among citizens. A holistic reconstruction of the good as a socio-philosophical category, its role and ideological and methodological importance in utopian thinking are offered and defined on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of agathological and utopialogical discourses. Been outlined features of the manifestations of utopian consciousness in terms of transformation of modern Ukrainian society.
