Potapova O. The Orthodox clergy in the social life in Ukraine of 1917-1920.

Dissertation is devoted to the analysis of public activity of orthodox clergy in 1917-1920. A place and role of orthodox clergy in public life of Ukraine in 1917-1920 are investigated in it on the basis of wide circle of the archived sources. Socially demographic structure of clergy is complexly investigated in dissertation, the problem of the financial providing of clergy and monkhoods is analysed; the terms of becoming of consciousness of orthodox clergy are found out; activity of orthodox fraternities(brotherhoods) and guardianships is analysed and spheres of their influence in Ukraine in 1917-1920 are defined; basic directions and role of enlightenment activity of cleric are exposed, the maintenance of charitable activity of clergy is defined. It is proved that the clergy were the active participant of public process.
