Essay

Object — Russian judicial speeches - the beginning of the 20th century. Aim — to identify trends and patterns of evolution of strategy and tactics of the speech- conviction in Russian legal discourse since the nineteenth till the beginning of the twenty first century. Methods — methods of summary, concrete definition, systematization, synthesis; context-situational, cognitive, pragmatic and semantic analysis. Novelty - trends and patterns of evolution of strategy and tactics of persuasion in the Russian judicial discourse XIX - the first decade of XXI century are revealed; types of linguistic and social factors that determine the success of the speech-conviction in different time periods are selected, constant elements of the convincing legal discourse are delineated - which do not undergo any changes over time, and variable - which depend on the social context in a particular historical period. Results – are the theoretically based model and terms’ system of the convincing discourse research; the specificity of the strategy and tactics of judicial speech is revealed; types of social factors that determine the strategy and tactics of persuasion in court are selected, and their role in different historical periods, also it is found how a means of speech influence has been changed in judicial speeches in the 19th - the beginning of the 21st century, the factors of these changes are set up; the constant elements which are peculiar to the linguistic strategy and tactics of persuasion at all times are defined; the list of priority factors to be considered in preparing for the trial speech-conviction of modern social conditions are caused. Sphere - legal linguistics and theory of the discourse, pragmalinguistics, stylistics, text linguistics.
