Gontar N. Creative and social activity of Panas Saksagansky.

The thesis is a complex research of creative and public work of Panas Saksagansky, who was the actor and the director, one of founders of the Ukrainian professional theater. The problem has been investigated in context of cultural and political processes of the end 19 - the first decades of 20 centuries. On the wide basis of sources, a considerable part of wich has been used for the first time, the process of the formation of Panas Saksagansky's world outlook has been investigated. Main trends of his creative and public activity, activity in 1917-1922 are considered and systematized. Value creative and public work of Panas Saksagansky for cultural development of Ukraine and for formation of national consciousness of ukrainians have been analysed.
