Object - physical training in water polo; aim - elaboration of a program for the purposeful development of power and speed qualities in skilled water polo players; methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of the scientific and methodical literary data and the materials of empiric research, pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, some methods of empiric data receiving (biochemical analysis, measuring of thrust force on land and in water, hand force, throw distance on land and in water, jump height on land and in water, ball shot speeding in throw, and section swimming time), mathematic statistic methods; novelty - the methodical principles of power training specification for skilled water polo players have been first elaborated; the comparative effectiveness of skilled water polo players' speed qualities development in the second third part of the training session major stage has been first scientifically substantiated; the theoretical and methodical principles of skilled water polo players' power qualities development through specific exercises application have been supplemented; the fundamental principles of the sportsmen's physical qualities development and the comparative effectiveness data of the sportsmen's speed qualities development at the beginning of a training session have been proved; results - the application effectiveness of the developed program has been proved, some practical recommendations for the specialists in the field of sports and water polo coaches have been elaborated, the research results have been introduced in the practical application for the skilled water polo teams; field - physical education and sport.
