Shynkarenko L. Trends of the development of education for adults in Ukraine (1991-2007)

The thesis researches the trends of the development of education for adults in Ukraine during different historic stages and represents the evaluation of its present condition. Due to the retrospective analysis of different literary sources the three main stages of the development have been pointed out, 1946-1965 - organization of basic education for adults without discontinuing work; 1965-1990 - formation of thuhain of institutions of postgraduate education for adults; 1991-2007 - modernization of education for adults in the period of Ukrainian independence and enterferinginto European system of education/ The period of the development of education for adults in Ukraine in postwar times (1946-1990) has been researched, the period, full of upheavals and reforms in the system of education for adults. The data according to which it can be said that the whole period is characterized by diversification, i.e. diversity of trends, types, kinds of educational institutions and curricula for adults as well as the forms and methods of work with them have been generalized.
