Essay

In the thesis it is established that significant activity of the community that aimed at preserving monuments of history and culture was conditioned by the ethnic and national confrontation and failure of the Polish state to provide preservation of cultural heritage in full. As a result, diverse monuments preservation activities of Polish and Ukrainian public organizations, communities, museum institutions in Western Ukraine in 1920-1939 transformed into a peculiar movement for preservation of historical and cultural monuments.
