Baystruk-Glodan L. Parent material development for the red clover breeding in the conditions of the Pre-Carpathians.

Subject of inquiry - the regularities of new parent material development for red clover breeding with high productivity indeces. The aim - varietal sample selection - valuable genetic sources on the breeding traits and parent material creation for red clover breeding. The research methods are field, laboratory, statistic, correlation. On the basis of established regularities of economic character formation and inheritance, the genetic sources are selected and new parent material is developed: six varietal samples, one hybrid population and three breeding numbers. The breeding form № 193 with a complex of economic characters is submitted to the State scientific and technical consultant's investigation as Truskavchanka in 2009. 16 samples of red clover are included in the National Gene Bank of Plants of Ukraine. The findings are used in breeding programmes of the Breeding Division of the Precarpatian Experimental Station of the Institute of Agriculture and Stock-Breeding of the Western Region, the Institute of feeds and the Ternopol Institute of the Agroindustrial Production.
