Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the study of mRNA expression of hypoxia inducible factor (HIF) а-subunits in different rat tissues in normoxic and hypoxic conditions and determination of HIF-1а allelic polymorphism's role in functional systems reaction realization in humans under hypoxia. It was shown that mainly HIF-3а mRNA expression was increased in response to acute hypoxia. Soft interval hypoxic training (IHT) (12 % O2 in gaseous mixture) did not influence on any HIF а-subunits mRNA expression but the trained rats did not show an increase in HIF-3а mRNA expression in response to acute hypoxia that is specific for untrained rats. Another scheme of IHT (7 % O2 in gaseous mixture) during 14 days led to an increase in expression of HIF-3а mRNA in lungs, kidneys and heart compared to normoxic control without further changes in reply to acute hypoxia. It was shown that frequency of HIF-1а T1744 allele in a group of healthy men (18-40 years old) was 0,098. It was found the high degree of correlative-regressive dependences between HIF-1а mRNA expression level in humans, this gene's allelic variants and the changes of breathing rate, respiratory volumes, heart rate, heart minute volume and cardiac index in response to different types of hypoxia.
