Essay

The object of research work is the development of pedagogical science and practice in Ukraine in 20s-70s of XX century; the purpose of research work is to cover the pedagogical heritage and creative contribution of Vasyl Ivanovych Pomagayba broadly to the pedagogical science development in Ukraine in 20s-70s of XX century; the of research work is the pedagogical personalia V. Pomagayba; the following methods are used in research work: bibliography-searching and structure-chronological methods enabled to find and put in order the scientific and pedagogical information of different times and the material concerning V. Pomagayba's life and work; classification, systematization, theoretical analysis of archival and published sources of information concerning the research problem enabled to define the structure and cover the main point of research problem, to discover the pedagogue contribution to the development of pedagogical theory and practice; personalia-bibliographical method used for the analysis of life course and creative activity of pedagogue;comparative and axiological methods enabled the comparison of events, phenomena, facts and views of V. Pomagayba with the ideas of his contemporaries and their meaningful estimate; system-logical analysis of the pedagogue's heritage in the aggregate with synthesis enabled to summarize the obtained information and formulate the conclusion; the scientific novelty of the received results is in the following: for the first time on the basis of numerous sources of information the entire research of V.I. Pomagayba's pedagogical heritage is carried out in the context of socio-cultural and educational realias of the first part of 20s - the beginning of 70s of XX century. The main stages of his life and factors influencing the formation of his personality and pedagogical views are defined. The main directions of his scientific-pedagogical work are defined and analyzed: the history of education and pedagogical conception of Ukraine, some aspects of teaching theory in primary and secondary schools, problem solving concerning the poor progress of pupils. The main point and significance of his creative work is shown. The role of pedagogue in the theoretical substantiation and practical introduction to educational practice of leading pedagogical ideas (content-organizational foundations of educational process organization in primary school) is discovered. The separate facts of V. Pomagayba's life are determined. The characteristics of home pedagogical science and school practice in Ukraine in 20-70s of XX century got further development. Little known, not used before archival documents and historical facts which are connected with V. Pomagayba's life and work are introduced into the scientific practice.
