Based on the analysis of the results of diagnosis and treatment of 488 patients a group of 83 (17.0%) surgically treated children with different types of CC was formed. The pecularities of clinical course, morphological and functional changes in malformed colon in children of different age groups regarding the CC type. The diagnostic algorithm in cases of colonic malformation accompanied by CC in children was developed considering the variant of the entity, presence of complications and associated diseases. The new diagnostic methods consosted on estimation of X-ray contrast tags passage through the alimentary tract were developed and implemented in order to define the type of colostasis and colonic motoric and evacuative function violations extent. The differential approach of choice of indications, method and amount of resection of colon in children with different types of CC was substantiated and proposed. The methods of surgical treatment were improved considerise the clinical course, morphological and functional changes in the intestines and age of patient. Principles of preoperative preparation and postoperative care were formed with due regard of the grade of pathology, anatomic and physiologic peculirities in children. A set of measures aimed at improving the function of intestine and preventing complications after operation in the early postoperative period was developed and implemented that improved the final results of functional treatment of CC. Efficiency of surgical treatment of malformation, accompanied in сhildren with CC was studied. The clinical efficacy of proposed treatments was evaluated. Using the developed programs of diagnostic and therapeutic measures in CC we achieved good results in 85.5% and satisfactory in 14.5% of patients, without death of any patient.
