Essay

Thesis is devoted to the investigation of melatonin excess and lack influence on functional, biochemical, histological characteristics of rats. Experimental investigations of 101 rats' hearts functioning showed essential changes of prooxidant-antioxidant heart system, of morphological characteristics of myocardium which occurred at different terms of investigations, the changes were seen in electrocardiographic indexes in a stress condition on the background of hypo and hypermelatoninemia. The lack of melatonin in the result of a twenty-four hour lightening led to misbalance in prooxidant-antioxidant system, its direction depended on the terms of hypermelatoninemia. Changes in the condition of prooxidant-antioxidant system at different terms of hypermelatoninemia developed on the background of certain changes of biochemical, morphological indexes, which were more evident in terms of continuous lack of melatonin and absence of essential changes of myocardium excitability and contractility. Stress modeling by means of adrenalin injection on the background of hypermelatoninemia led to evident changes of prooxidant-antioxidant status. Melatonin injection into rats with adrenalin myocardiodystrophy reduced the level of deviation of a heart electrocardiographic indexes and the heart's rhythm variability.
