Lysa O. Political sentiments of intelligentsia of Nadnipryanska Ukraine during the second half of XIX – the beginning of XX century.

The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of political sentiments of intelligentsia of Nadnipryanska Ukraine during the second half of XIX – the beginning of XX century. Based on the wide range of sources and historiography, the complex investigation of social and political sentiments of intelligentsia as well as their response to new developments of social, cultural and political nature was made. It was established the causal relation between policy of Russian government and social sentiments of intelligentsia as well as the state of their mass consciousness. It was analyzed the reasons of quite weak expression of Ukrainian national aspirations among the educated stratum of society. It was identified the reasons of gradual increase of disaffection of tsarist government policy, which became the important factor of progress in pluralistic vision of future social and political development of Ukraine.
