The dissertation focuses on the analysis of O. Konys'kyi's views on the problems of Ukrainian national education. The leading factors that influenced O. Konys'kyi's outlook and his development as a conscious Ukrainian citizen, a cultural and public man, a pedagogue have been determined. The pedagogue's biography has been analysed; as a result, the main stages and directions of his public and educational activity have been defined and investigated.
