Essay

This work is done on the teases of versatile analyses of the archives sources and published materials. It was made an attempt of the complex research of the prominent political figure of Roman Shuhevitch first of all as a leader of OUN and UIA on the background of the events witch were very important for Ukraine. The work gives the main social factors of Roman Shuhevitch's outlooks formation, his ideological persuasion, his military and political activities in Ukrainian Military Organization (UMO) and Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and Ukrainian Insurrectional Army (UIA). It was represented the life conditions way of life of OUN and UIA soldiers and their commander. The role and historical importance of Roman Shuhevitch in national-liberation movement in the second half of the XXth century is deeply and lased. Based on the research results the author came to the conclusion that the figure of UIA commander Roman Shuhevitch takes ponderable place in national-liberation movement in the second half of the XXth century, thanks to his creative talents and his military resolution in UIA it was possible for a long time to keep fighting efficiency of partisan's detachments and to resist acting totalitarian regime on the Ukrainian lands.
