Essay

The dissertation focuses on the analysis of social, economic, and political life of Right-Bank Ukraine during the First World war what has been done due to the contemporary methodology, on the basis of wide range of sources including those which have recently appeared. The conclusion is that the front-line location of Right-Bank provinces affected their economic development in a negative way. But the war events did not stop the political life of the region. The war gave rise to formation of new public organizations in Kyiv, Podillya, and Volyn provinces while the already existing ones extended their activity.
