Essay

Dissertation is devoted to the study of the interaction of plasma membrane Ca2+-transporting systems and intracellular Ca2+ stores in submandibular salivary cells. The results testify about the impact of Ach-induced [Са2+]і -transients formation of purinoreceptors, activation of which causes an increase of [Са2+]і and as a consequence stimulates secretion of liquid and protein salivary components, which was shown by the experiments in vivo. In the in vitro experiments an increase of Mch impact in [Са2+]і and [Са2+]ER was shown, affecting on the SOC entrance and activity of Ca2+-ATPase. There was found a correlation of non-stimulated and stimulated salivation processes from carboanhydrase activity. It was shown that the effect of carboanhydrase blocking on the salivation processes is mediated by the changes in [Са2+]і-homeostasis in the salivary cells. Key words: [Са2+]і-signaling, secretion, Ca2+-ATPase, mitochondria, secretory cells, salivary glands.
