The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of relations between utopia and futurology in the context of social ideals. By analyzing utopia and futurology as distinctive phenomena, it has been ascertained that they are the source of essences and contexts of social ideals. The thesis is dedicated to the analysis of relations between utopia and futurology in the context of the formation of social ideals. By analyzing utopia and futurology as distinctive phenomena, it has been ascertained that they are the source of essences and contexts of social ideals. Utopia and futurology affect the formation of social ideals in different ways: futurology is propped by the methods of prolongation and prospection, while utopia is based on speculation as a main principle of its presumptions. Moreover, it is proven that utopia and futurology as phenomena have different space and time characteristics: utopia serves as an alternative to the current state of a social environment, while futurology as a model for the future.
