Essay

In the thesis in question the result of iron and forged pieces mythological and sacral aspects complex research given. On the basis of written, archaeological, linguistic and ethnographic sources the auther , reconstructs mythological and sacral symbolism of iron and blacksmith's wares in archaic mind, systematic mythologicale view on the noted problem, finds out the place of iron and forged pieces in archaic world outlook: systematizes mythological and poetical data concerning the aforesaid topic: ascertains the place of iron in the world outlook model of the Eastern Slavs fnd peoples who have interacted with them for a long period. As the result of conducted historical and comparative analysis of myths and rituals with the usage of iron and forged pieces the author managed to clarity the character of mythological comprehension of objective reality by the archaic man and to reconstruct the semiotic aspects of iron functionality in traditional and every-day life culture of the Eastern Slavs.
