Vytrykhovskyy O. Differential diagnosis of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease: additional criteria and algorithm of their application

Object of study: bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with varying degrees of severity; goal: to increase the efficiency of the differential diagnosis of bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with varying degrees of severity in cases of poor diagnostic value of standardized parameters based on the clinical course, instrumental, immunological and biochemical methods of study to improve treatment of the patients; methods: clinical, anamnestic, physical, radiographic, laboratory, instrumental, statistical; newness - it should be noted that the cases of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease compared with bronchial asthma are characterized by prominent immunological and biochemical changes. The diagnostic value of complex of clinical and laboratory parameters, which can be used when there is insufficient informativity of standardized criteria for verification of diagnosis, was proved. For the first time for differential diagnosis mathematical method of evaluating results was applied, which form the basis of a gradual medical tactics in the diagnosis of bronchcial asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; area of application - medicine.
