Essay

The results of the study of immunological properties of rabies virus vaccine strains Schelkovo K-51, RB-71 and TC-80 are presented at the dissertation. The principal possibility of cultivation of rabies virus vaccine strain Schelkovo K-51 in cell culture SK is shown. The improved science-based technology for the rabies virus production by "suspension" infecting of cell culture SK with two-stage extraction of the virus, which makes it possible to get the cultural virus-containing material with a high titer of infective activity was proposed. Method for determining the infectivity of rabies virus vaccine strain Schelkovo-51 K by titration in cell culture SK was improved in order to make it possible to significantly reduce the time in determining the titer from 14 days up to 3 days. The pathogenic and antigenic properties of vaccine strains of rabies virus were studied. The results became the basis for the development of science-based "Conception of using vaccine strains of rabies virus". The genetic relationship of variable region of the nucleoprotein gene of rabies virus vaccine strains Schelkovo 51-K, TS-80, RB-71 and the reference strain CVS was shown, despite their different origins.
